We, at Rayo Active Travel, believe that it is important to encourage this and have looked for ways to facilitate the ‘giving back’. Therefore, we are thrilled to present to you our ‘Giving Back to the Camino’ program. Every year, we will donate a percentage of our trips sales to assist a non-profit organization that benefits the Camino de Santiago.
This year, our chosen project is ‘Leave No Trace Canada‘. This national non-profit organization is dedicated to promoting and inspiring responsible outdoor recreation through education, research and partnerships. Leave No Trace builds awareness, appreciation and respect for our wildlands.
As more and more people walk the Camino every year, we have unfortunately noticed some people not respecting the trail or its environment as one should. As such, we felt this year would be a good time to support an organization that can educate people on outdoor ethics so we may keep this historical trail in the same pristine state we find it today so future generations can benefit from it as well.
We include their tips and suggestions in your welcome packet when you book with us. You can also find these tips on-line on their website here.
In booking your Camino Adventure with us, we’d like to thank you in advance for your efforts in supporting this and other worthy causes.

PAST BENEFICIARIES OF OUR GIVING BACK TO THE CAMINO PROGRAM
WALKING THE CAMINO: SIX WAYS TO SANTIAGO, a DOCUMENTARY film in the making that follows six different people along their Camino journey. The filming manages to capture the essence of what it is that makes the Camino so special. It informs appropriately, educates and encourages others to follow in the footsteps of the thousands of pilgrims through the centuries. Of all the materials we’ve seen about the Camino, we feel that none are as motivating or powerful as what we have seen from this non-profit organization, so we can only imagine what the finished product will be like. If you haven’t had a chance to see their work yet, have a look at their trailer preview.
